Now Open- Murrieta Roadhouse

Driving down Murrieta Hot Springs, you will see the new Murrieta Roadhouse that has taken residence in the former Golden Corral location. The long-awaited wait is over, and the restaurant has now opened its doors to customers.

I visited the restaurant in the evening, so it was dark outside. However, much of the exterior is still the same and the interior still has a familiar feel of the Golden Corral except for some western furnishings on the walls. Seating is much the same as well with a large capacity.

Most importantly…we move on to the food. The menu was surprisingly abundant with beef, chicken, seafood, burgers, salads, and lots of appetizers. And, of course, their BBQ ribs, which are called Bubba’s Ribs.

I ordered a couple appetizers (Fried Pickles and Combo Appetizer) along with an order of the Bubba’s Ribs Full Rack. I cannot forget to mention the rolls that came out at the beginning that were very soft and chewy and included a cinnamon butter spread. Surprisingly, it was very addicting, but I tried not to get full on the bread before the meal.

The ribs that weren’t drizzled with BBQ sauce were seasoned well, had very tender chunks of meat, and were very well done. The fried pickles were also delicious and came with some house sauce and ranch dressing. Our combo appetizer included chicken wings, potato skins, and some Temecula Bites (batter-fried balls of cheese and jalapeno peppers). The Temecula bites were very interesting and seemed like a breaded ball of cheese and spiciness. This is a must-try when you visit.

Overall the food was all excellent and prepared well. So next time you want to try something new or crave some ribs, give the new Murrieta Roadhouse a try, and you may find a new favorite restaurant!
